Configuration and Jumper Options
If your system is "SCAM" (SCSI Configured Auto
Magically) compliant, the system assigns the drive ID over the
interface, so there is no need to be concerned about drive ID.
Setting the drive ID jumpers doesn’t hurt anything, but is
not necessary.
If your system is not "SCAM" compliant you do need to
set the drive ID using the ID jumpers. (See Below)
The ST32171WC model drives have no terminators, nor do they furnish terminator power to the I/O bus. Terminators are in the Host system.
The default is parity check of the SCSI bus enabled. To disable this feature, install a jumper across pins 7-8 on J2.
Enable motor start. The drive waits for the Start Unit command from the host before starting the motor. Jumper across pins 11-12 on J2. Disable motor start (default) The drive starts according to the delay motor start option setting as described below.
Enable motor start delay. Motor start delay is equal to the SCSI ID X 12 seconds. Install a jumper across pins 13-14 on J2. Disable motor start (default). Remove jumper from pins 13-14 on J2.
Write Protect = On (disables writing) Jumper across pins 9-10 on J2. Write Protect = Off (default) no jumper.
